Behind the Seams
It’s been a busy few months at the machine! One of my client-friends asked me to create some special quilts for her grandbabies, and of course, I was thrilled to say yes. To keep things moving quickly—and within budget—I’ve been focusing on designs that come together in just a few days.
The houndstooth and plus sign quilts were fast favorites. Both are simple to sew but make such a bold, modern statement. Next up is a herringbone quilt, and I can’t wait to see how it turns out.
There’s something extra meaningful about making quilts for little ones. Knowing they’ll be snuggled under these quilts for years to come makes every stitch that much sweeter.

UFO Feature
Well my spring project has turned into a UFO! ha!!! I had such good momentum but when it came to the last part (ties) it definitely has sat. It wont be sitting for long. I only have two more rows so I plan to binge watch Netflix to get this done. I cant wait to show you how easy it was. In hindsight I probably should have finished with a stitch in a ditch instead of tying it. Oh well, the effect will be worth with!

Outside the Studio
Things have been a little quieter than usual in the studio lately—but not for lack of excitement! My middle daughter just graduated from high school, and we've been in full-blown college prep mode over here. From campus tours to in between, it’s been a beautiful whirlwind of emotions.
I'm bursting with pride. Watching her cross that graduation stage was surreal—one of those moments that feels like it belongs in slow motion. She’s off to begin her next big adventure, and I can’t wait to see where her journey takes her.
In the middle of all the planning, quilting has remained my calm in the storm. Even when life gets busy outside the studio, stitching a few blocks or sketching out new ideas helps me feel grounded.
If you’ve also got big changes happening in your world right now, I see you. Life doesn’t stop moving, but I’ve found comfort in the rhythm of fabric, thread, and the hum of the sewing machine
Current Obsession
I have used this thread cutter notion so many times these last few months. When I work on quilts like the plus sign, herringbone and houndstooth that has a lot of chain piecing, this is a huge time saver. I just pop in a used rotary blade and it does the hard work for me. Such a great product!!
