One Quilt, Many Moments

Behind the Seams
I’ve been completely hyper-focused on finishing Jungle Magnolia, and I’m so close to having the quilt top completed, just a few more seams to stitch. This quilt is huge and has officially taken over my entire design wall. I couldn’t start another project right now even if I wanted to.
Honestly, I’m really enjoying working on a single project from start to finish. That’s not usually my style. I tend to have several projects going at once: something to cut, something to piece, a quilt on the longarm, and another in hand sewing rotation. Aside from client quilts, Jungle Magnolia has been my sole focus, and while I’m loving it, I’m also looking forward to getting back to some other WIPs and pattern work. I think I’m ready for a change of pace.
UFO Feature
It’s finally time to dust off my Cherish EPP project. I’ve been working on this one for years, but I only have two blocks left to finish before I can start sewing everything together. I’m so close!
This has always been my travel project so it’s never really been a main focus. Now that the finish line is in sight, I’ve moved it front and center in my hand sewing area to give it the attention it deserves.
For my fellow Tula Pink fans, I started this project back when Tula released her Homemade fabric line, coordinated by Pink Door Fabrics. It’s funny how I can measure time by fabric collections from my favorite designers, it’s definitely been a minute... dont judge.

Outside the Studio
The past month has been busy with holiday shopping and events, and I haven’t spent as much time in the studio as I would have liked. That may sound a little disappointing, but the trade off has been worth it. I’ve been soaking up extra time with my two youngest daughters running errands, being out and about, and just doing life together.
My youngest will be graduating high school next year, so I’m trying to be very intentional about making time and savoring these moments… as long as they’ll let me.
Current Obsession
During all the Black Friday sales, I kept seeing ads for Felt Right. I didn’t end up purchasing from them, but the idea sent me down a rabbit hole and I found a similar option on Amazon. Similar felt panels can replace a traditional design wall, but they recommend using pins or laying flannel over them still because fabric doesn't 'stick' as well.
For nearly a decade, my foam insulation board design wall has worked beautifully, but I’ve been wanting something that looks a bit more polished and less bulky. That’s what originally caught my eye about Felt Right (beautiful and customizable, but a bit pricey). I opted for simple felt panel squares instead and have been slowly installing them.
So far, installation has been super easy, and they’re holding up well. I’ll report back in a few weeks with an update on how they’re working long-term.
